18 years ago, George Kelly ran in the Burlington elections and was voted in as town councilor. Two years later, he was voted in as the Mayor of Burlington and hasn’t looked back since.  Nothing makes Mayor Kelly tick like improving life for his town and its people.

Born and raised in Burlington, Mayor Kelly has lived there for 57 wonderful years.

He belongs to the first family of Kellys who moved and settled in Burlington from King’s Point.  There is still only one family of Kellys in Burlington today.

Mayor Kelly is happily married and has one son, who like many Newfoundlanders, has had to leave the province for work in Alberta.

Currently, Mayor Kelly is busy organizing Burlington’s Come Home Year.  The big event kicks off in late July 2013.
