Monica Adair
Monica is a co-founding partner of Acre Architects based out of Saint John, New Brunswick, twice named one of the top emerging firms in Canada by Twenty + Change. She holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto.
Before starting the Acre, Monica worked at award winning firms in New York, Toronto and most recently, in Saint John where she was Project Architect for a hockey arena that won the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Architecture in New Brunswick.
Monica and Stephen were the recipients of the Sheff Visiting Chair in Architecture at McGill University School of Architecture in Montreal, where they were awarded the Sheff award for part-time teaching. Monica was recently selected to be part of ‘Team Canada’ for the 2012 Venice Biennale in Architecture.
An advocate for the arts and lover of all things adventurous, Monica is passionate and excels at brining meaning to architecture.  She understands the architectural process to be a constant interplay between reason and intuition. She can perhaps best be summed up by a fortune cookie she once had, reading: “Your emotional nature is strong and emotional.”
